1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, use the Service, or contact us. This includes: (a) Account and identity: when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile photo from the sign-in provider. (b) Learning content: text and images you upload or paste for analysis, and content you create (e.g. collections, flashcards). (c) Preferences: language, theme, and similar settings (some of which may be stored in your browser or device). (d) Subscription and credits: we store data related to your credits balance and subscription status, and we receive purchase and subscription events from our billing provider. (e) On our mobile app: we may store push notification tokens so we can send you notifications if you opt in. (f) Technical and usage data: device type, browser, and usage information to improve the Service. If you submit the "Get notified" (mobile app) form on our website, your email address is collected by our form provider. We also use cookies and local storage for preferences and to operate the Service; we do not use them to track you across other websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; to personalize your experience; to process credits and subscriptions; to communicate with you; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services and Sharing
We use trusted third-party services to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions: (a) Firebase (Google): for authentication and, on mobile, push notifications. (b) RevenueCat: for subscription and in-app purchase processing; they receive identifiers and purchase data linked to your account. (c) Our waitlist form provider (e.g. Kit): if you submit the mobile app notification form, your email is processed by that provider. We do not sell your data. These providers have their own privacy policies. Our use of Third-Party AI Service Providers is described in detail below.
Sharing data with Third-Party AI Service Providers
When you use AI-powered features (such as text analysis, image analysis, or story generation), you consent to the collection and processing of your "Shared Data" by our chosen AI provider, in accordance with applicable data protection standards. If you prefer not to share data in this way, please do not submit content through the AI features (e.g. do not paste text for analysis, upload images for analysis, or request AI-generated stories).
Other than Shared Data, we do not share any usage information, personal information, contact details (such as name or email), device identifiers, location data, or payment information with Third-Party AI Service Providers.
"Shared Data" means only the content you submit when using an AI feature (the text or images you provide for analysis, or the topic you provide for story generation). This data is strictly required for the application's core functionality and is solely used to generate a response (e.g. flashcards, notes, or a story) to your content. Shared Data is subject to the privacy policy of the relevant provider.
